I'm Ready to Go!

I think I am having a post-graduate crisis. A post-graduate crisis is when you fear the complacency and monotony of what is considered a normal adult life. I felt this after I graduated high school but leaving home for two years to serve an LDS mission in Brazil easily cured that and in fact might have made this one even worse. I have been graduated from the University of Utah for 19 months now and I have been craving another adventure like crazy. I have been desperately trying to plan a trip to get back to Brazil for either the World Cup or Olympics. It is very far away and still unlikely. I am still looking for something adventurous to satisfy my craving.

We are fortunate every year to go to Cabo San Lucas and escape to the Mexican Pacific. This is by far one of the greatest places to visit in the world. The best part is, even if you go there on a cruise you can't even take in all the amazing things about that place. This year more than any other year I think I am ready to go on a adventure to Mexico. My favorite part about Mexico now is getting to take my amazing wife Tiffany with me every year and show her a good time and all the secrets behind this amazing place. I think the most exciting thing about being married to Tiffany is that I know whatever crazy adventure I can imagine up for us to do, she is always there to either talk some sense in to me or jump on board with me. Let's go! Because we are always ready to go!

See you in 2 years Nathan!

Recently we went to Las Vegas to see Nathan one last time before he went to the MTC. It was good to spend time with the family, especially Nathan.

I am so proud of him! He has been in the MTC about a week now and in a couple weeks he will be going to Tallahassee, Florida for 2 years to serve. My little brother has grown up so fast!

Mitch and I didn't carve pumpkins last year, so Nathan, Mitch, and I carved pumpkins!

Our completed artwork

We got to see Nathan get set apart as a missionary while we were there. This of course was a spiritual and tear-jerking experience.

He looks like a great missionary, doesn't he?

Vedera

I discovered this music artist about 2 years ago. I listened to her live and immediately bought her CD. love love love. I haven't listened to her in awhile, but this past week has been a vedera week. Her voice is fun. Here a few goodies.

The Rain

Satisfy

And last...Love this song, but I picked this version because she is singing live in an empty pool house. The echos sound amazing!

Fall is here!

This week Mitch and I took an early evening and drove up to the mountains to look at the beautiful fall colors. It was great! We drove up to Brighton Resortand back. We got out at Brighton and walked around the boardwalk. I love fall time! ...Still not a fan of winter...but we are working on that. ;-)

Have I gone crazy???

Maybe...but I just needed a change. I have been talking about "changing" my hair for a long time, and I have been wanting to add red to it.

The night before my hair appointment, I still wasn't sure what to do. I asked Mitch what he thought, and he pulled up a picture of Victoria Beckham and said he liked her haircut. I told him no way was I ever going to go that short, but that I did like her hair.

Well....the next morning I was talking to my hairstylist about it and she said we should just do it. Just like that the decision was made and all my hair was chopped off! So I officially now have the "Victoria Beckham" hair cut. I added red highlights mixed in with blonde too!

Mitch doesn't like it....

He LOVES it!

It is the kind of hairstyle that people either love it or hate it. Luckily, the only people I really care about impressing is myself and Mitch.

Is this a permanent hairstyle for me? Probably not. I would be lying if I said I don't miss my long hair...because I really do. But at the same time, it is fun change to have for a season or two. After all, it is just hair and it will grow back. For now, I love it and it is a fun, spunky, modern, bouncy, new look for me. :-)

comments welcome!

10/08/09 Take three

Last weekend Mitch and I had our 2nd year anniversary!

Mitch won a free hotel stay at the Hyatt in a raffle at his Christmas work party last year.
We used it and stayed at the Hotel right by the gateway for our Anniversary.
We went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Salt Lake and had a romantic dinner. It was sooooo good! The next day, we spent the day at the Gateway going to lunch, seeing a movie, and shopping around. It was great to spend a whole evening and a whole day together!

Our spoiled bird

Mitch and I wanted a play gym for Rio to play on when he is out of his cage. After looking online and not wanting to spend anywhere from 50-200 dollars on a good one, we decided to make one ourselves! It was super cheap! I bought a white tray from target, and white plastic chain from Home Depot, and went from there! It was super easy. We drilled holes in 4 corners and added some toys that we already had. (ok, I might have bought him a couple more....but most of them we already had.)

It hangs from the ceiling, and the best part about it, is that when he is not out of his cage, we can easily take it down and it collapses and slides easily under our coffee table and out of sight.

He loves it!!
